I am not a foot fetishist.

I'm only mildly shoe crazy. (ahem)

The shoe photos are part of an ongoing project (saga?) wherein I chose a topic (shoes) and have been photographing that same topic/subject for several years. (off and on since undergrad). It began as a term project wherein we had to create a visual autobiography with all the photos containing a common thread to unify them to ourselves. (yeah, flipping esoteric art school projects) I could have just as easily chosen bicycles, vegetables, books, rocks or any number of other subjects, but opted for something with a human component to give the photos a sense of life and sense of me - basically, it was the easiest idea I could come up with to fit the assignment without having to devote the entire semester to chasing some lofty self absorbed affected theme no one would understand. Hey. I had a heavy class load that term, I needed to keep things as simple as possible.

Right. So. It became part of my daily life, like brushing teeth, yadda yadda yadda Flickr came into being and voila! a place to deposit my shoe shots and log my pedography.
