Vowels
A Black, E white, I red, U green, O blue : vowels,
I shall tell, one day, of your mysterious origins:
A, black velvety jacket of brilliant flies
Which buzz around cruel smells,

Gulfs of shadow; E, whiteness of vapours and of tents,
Lances of proud glaciers, white kings, shivers of cow-parsley;
I, purples, spat blood, smile of beautiful lips
In anger or in the raptures of penitence;

U, waves, divine shudderings of viridian seas,
The peace of pastures dotted with animals, the peace of the furrows
Which alchemy prints on broad studious foreheads;

O, sublime Trumpet full of strange piercing sounds,
Silences crossed by Worlds and by Angels:
O the Omega, the violet ray of Her Eyes!

    the inhabitant says:

    "Hers is an in-between world, found in shadows and blurs if you are paying attention. Once there it is rich and playful, strange creatures and characters come out to play, walls disappear into swamps and forests, windows open up into themselves. Was it all created, or did it create itself? A deliberate charcoal mark or a chance scratch of a twig? The question itself gets swallowed up in the parade and the mists, and the textures dance on."

    "ubych's aesthetic is so unified, and looking through the flickr, you can see a progression that still retains the original stark, but sometimes dense/articulated (as in the many branches), or barren lands. i don't want to write an essay on ubych, so i'll stop there and say she has a great eye(s)."

    "the light that shines in here
    it's soft - for eyes that want to see
    a beauty that's for real
    a beauty that gives life & turns the night into the day

    there's music if you listen good
    this sanctuary is of a heavenly tonality
    the strings arranged by Bacharach
    the copper melts to gold inside of your ears

    L. Lew says:

    "with such close attention to detail, ubych has showed me through her images that there is so much more to life than meets the eye, even when we are searching so intently for it. meanwhile, it comes so naturally to ubych, who sees the world for every single hint of beauty and subtlety it has to offer us all. in the words of American Beauty - "look closely.""
