Spy-glass' photostream

Hi Friends!




For me photography is mostly location based - out there in the world - that's all about.

I like photographing great people on the most amazing places on the planet.

The energy and creativity that surrounds my hobby.




My way of thinking is:

* Look at the scene without the camera because with the camera to your face you see a lot less!

* Build the scene in your mind, visualise how you want excactly how it should look.

* Simplify the frame.

* Try to do something that's unusual, look for things to make it different.

* Try to close the "creator gap"!




The "creator gap" is the gap between what you want your pictures to look like and what your pictures actually look like.

Be able to create the thing that's in your mind. It takes a lot of time and energy but it 's not undoable.

BANG THE SHUTTER, press that button over and over again! Take a lot of pictures. It's the most underdiscussed thing on all the forums all over the internet.

The more pictures you take the better your pictures going to be.

Get out of your chair and put yourself into position and create shots. Hit the streets and hit the shutter a lot!

Along with the studies you do online and all the little experiments, reading magazines and blogs; all those things will come together to help you colose the creator gap and become a better shooter.

Don't be affraid to make mistakes! Take the picture and look at the back of your camera; if it didn 't work try something different.

With digital you can really make a lot of mistakes very cheaply and correct them very easily right at that very moment to make a better picture...




Get off your butts and hit the shutter!



P.s.: Always keep in mind that every photographer in all of the history was a horrible photographer for some period of time. They learned, they grew, they had dark days, they persevere.... that 's the way of the artist!
