My name is Storm and I joined Flickr in July of 2008 with a point and shoot Olympus sub-compact camera. It wasn't long before I discovered the "super macro" feature on this camera and was 'off to the races'....just love taking close-up shots of flowers and nature. It seems to be my calling as I am an avid gardener and spend most days outdoors working in my yard and taking photos. Most of my floral shots are of items that I have grown in my garden.

I just recently purchased a DSLR camera with some input from some wonderful Flickr contacts who guided me and have been a constant source of inspiration and encouragement to learn the various functions and myriad of variables that are available on such a camera. It is all so new and I am still challenged to learn all the functions and facets of such a complex but rewarding camera.

The beauty of Flickr is that there is always someone, somewhere who is willing to teach you or help you to resolve a problem or answer a question and if they can't help then they always guide you to the proper group or forum for add'l assistance.

I have learned a tremendous amount of information is such a short time because of all of the really informed and talented folks, here, on Flickr. I love my contacts and all the other people who have taught me every single day since I joined. Most don't even realize as you learn thru osmosis or indirectly just from observation....there are so many excellent photographers here to learn from....my heart-felt thanks goes out to all of the many people who have given their time to answer my questions or teach me something about Flickr or photography. I have yet to send out a Flickr mail with a question or comment without a return message. There has not been a single person here when asked for help that did not respond in some way. That is an awesome testament to the kind of friends you will find and the contacts you will make on Flickr...."Hat's Off" to a wonderful concept and unbelievable experience thus far...!
