I am a mechanical engineer (and business owner) living in Annapolis, Maryland. I have been involved with photography since the days of film. It seems like I have always had a Nikon SLR or DSLR. Currently I have a Nikon D300, having upgraded from a D80 and a D50. I lived on my sailboat for 10 years--so nautical subjects and seascapes interest me the most. (This year I got married and moved into a nice house in Annapolis.) I also like wildlife photography. I like bold colors and simplicity of subject matter. I prefer shooting just before sunrise.

Camera: Nikon D300 w MB-D10 grip
Lenses: Sigma's: 10-20, 120-300 f2.8, & 2X Extender plus Nikkor 50 f1.4G, 85 f1.4D, and 24-120 f4 VR (my new fav lens!)
Accessories: Manfrotto 190XPROB Tripod & SB600 Speedlight

Historic Annapolis is a beautiful place to shoot pictures. When I travel, photography is an important part of my decision of where to go. Recently I have been to Puerto Rico and Costa Rica. The Greek Islands are on my list for the summer of 2011 and South Africa and Namibia for 2012.

My personality is somewhat rare (ISTP) My personality type is reserved, methodical, spirited, and intense. Only about 6% of all people have my personality, including 3% of all women and 8% of all men. I am Introverted, Sensing, Thinking, and Perceiving (ISTP).
