I used to be a "purist" using only what I captured "in camera"
for a loooooong time (too long) I resisted the digital age, (I even resisted auto-focus SLRs!)
I have come to realise that manipulation is just as much fun as capturing! although nothing can compare with witnessing the perfect afternoon light or the glow of an approaching storm...
