My name is Marloes Duyker, I am 33 years old and I live and work as an illustrator in the city of Utrecht, the Netherlands. For six years I have been making fabricated illustrations with my favorite tool: the sewing machine. I am now working for a variety of clients: magazines, banks, books, fashion designers and more. The images are often used for editorial purposes.
My work can be described als an infinite fusion of illustrative design, art and fashion.

Structures and details, purity and the beauty of imperfection and spontaneity: these are the ingredients of the works of Marloes Duyker. Here work is created by the sewing machine to produce stimulating textile works that balance between figurative and abstract worlds; a delicate game of structures and fragile stitching.

Naked Design is a flexible one-man business that designs remarkable concepts and 2D and 3D images for editorial purposes, display windows, stands, fashion, jewellery and furniture.

I have been working for a great variety of clients, like ABN Bank, Fortis (Amsterdam International Fashion Week), Vodafone, Elegance, Marie Claire, Avant Garde en Tommy Hilfiger.

The thread in the work is like a route; a journey through a landscape made out of fabrics, weathered paper, leather and wood. In this, experiments result in suprising expressions and innovating concepts.

As an artist, I gratefully use the contrast between the technique and subjects like suicide, the depression, and the loss of identity. This is varied by light-hearted and spontanious images of colorful birds, styled man-figures and poetic portraits.
