Photography has become a big part of my life over the last few years. It started as a way of documenting where I had visited and walked in my spare time along with my dog Tess.
I bought a Nikon D40x which was an ideal camera to start with and taught me the basics and now I have a Nikon D90.
I live in a rural area of North Derbyshire and have many locations in which to walk and take landscape photos.
Also as I was once a gardener and nurseryman I like to photograph plantlife and often take shots of things which I have grown in my garden.
As I realised how much more to photography there was than I had ever imagined so I became more and more hooked and so the range of things I found to photograph widened.
Flickr has been essential in giving inspiration not just about what to photograph but how to do it.

The friendship and warmth that flickr members show has quite taken me by suprise. I previously thought that the idea of web communities was an odd one but now I see the value in the sharing of not just the images but the experiences that accompany them.

"Andrew is one of the best photographers I have in my contact list here. I feel "angle" is a big factor in photography as it makes an ordinary scene to excellent and I think Andrew play with it very nicely. I loved his landscape and macro pics. Hope to see many more great pics in future. All the best Andrew!!"

"I have known Andy for about a year now - well at least through Flickr. I was surprised when I looked that I hadn't written my friend here a testimonial so I thought I had better correct it.
Andy is one of those Flickr people that I think you could call robust, friendly and dedicated. He has a relentless and obvious passion for photography and it is always a delight to view his photographs from his many walks in the Peak and other places and to see Tess appear as the star too. A great photographer bringing shots in front of me that make me know that I have been there done that and realise actually that Andy has made a much better job of the shot than I ever did.
So thanks for being a great Flickr friend Andy and it is always a pleasure to see your pictures and your comments on my stream too. Thanks mate."

His crisp, clear, well presented landscapes bring the scenes he photographs, to life."

"I made Andrew as a contact after finding him through George Bayode's contact list. Andrew is a very talented photographer of England's landscapes, the way he is able to capture the 4 seasons of the English countryside and portray rural England is something to to be admired. By following his works on flickr, I have learnt alot on how to try and photograph landscapes.

A good contact to have as he always gives constructive feedback on ones work!"

"Andy is a genius when it comes to taking classic landscapes with a fresh and original twist. I am familiar with some of the Derbyshire landscapes and always enjoy looking at Andy's refreshing interpretations of the scenes. There are so many classic photos in his stream that I would be hard pressed to find a favourite, although I am a big fan of this one: www.flickr.com/ph...

Andy is also a great contact and regularly comments on my posts with genuine interest, which really means a lot to me. Keep on shooting, Andy!"

"I also should have written this a while ago mate :)
Andy is a talented photographer who`s wonderful images of the Peak District and beyond are an insight into the beautiful part of the country he lives in (with Tess, his dog)
He has a great knowledge of plants and trees and is always able to help (the lesser green fingered amongst us) with identification and names.
I always look forward to his next shot, and his constructive, encouraging and witty comments.
Andy has a wicked sense of humour and is definitely one of my valued friends on flickr.
    Cheers for that Andy :)"

And, as if his photographs weren't enough, he also takes the time to view and comment on my stream - comments which I value greatly given the talent that he has for seeing the beautiful things in the world. Thanks mate!"
