I'm studying photography with the Open College of the Arts. As I write, in June 09, I've just finished the last assignment for The Art of Photography and am hoping to move on to do the Landscape course.

I'm passionate about photography - love taking photos, looking at them, talking about them, sharing them. I've finally discovered my creative self, which has been hidden for years under a facade of more 'sensible' things. I teach beginner's photography workshops, have written a photography themed e-book, and am always looking for contact with other photography obsessed people.

In my previous life I have done a fair bit of teaching: IT, philosophy, reiki, colour & style and feng shui, among other things. I'm almost as passionate about books as I am photography and have spent lots of time working in bookshops and libraries. I've been a marriage registrar and a hypnotherapist, and I can't remember what else. I like variety. My ambition is to make a living out of writing and photography, but probably not in the usual ways.

I think life is what you make it, and feel sad that so many people die with their song still in them, as Thoreau said. I don't want to be one of them.
