I love to travel and, for me, photography is a means of extending each trip I take. It allows me to capture moments I might otherwise forget and to examine worlds new to me in more detail once I return home. I try to capture what I find unique about the places I visit as a means of comparing cultures from around the world. I organize my photos into thematic sets that build into a collection for that country. Some of the individual photos may not be of interest, but they are a part of the story overall and may make more sense once viewed as part of the full set. The end result is more akin to a photo essay than a collection of travel photos and hopefully the format is interesting and informative to others as well.

I thank the flickr community for the exchange that takes place as we view and comment on each others photos. I have learned much from the process and want to especially thank my flickr contacts for all their input and for all their beautiful photos.
