Oaxaca Cultural Navigator's photostream |
Focusing on the textile traditions of Oaxaca, we offer weaving, natural dyeing, documentary filmmaking, oil painting and other arts workshops and seminars in the indigenous Zapotec village of Teotitlan del Valle, Oaxaca. Norma Hawthorne is a textile and jewelry artist who is interested in preserving the history, culture and traditions that define the people of the region. A university administrator who has over 20 years of experience in program development, Hawthorne organizes small group experiences for those who want an authentic travel and learning visit. Occasional tours, such as a Day of the Dead adventure, are also planned. See the blog for more information.
