I prefer my photographs in black and white but its hard here. I never tried photoshop and I am not a fan of HDR. I hate to edit my photos as I am famous for being EXTREMELY LAZY.
I have had an extrordinary life, full of unbeleivable encounters like a fairytale. I had my first SLR when I was 18 and that was 16 years ago and I did shoot many a photo full of magical moments which I dont have with me anymore.
Anyway, I hope my photostream speaks of me and my life and I also hope that you can enjoy it....

"I never dared to write a testimonial for Nayeem Bhai because I know whatever I write will be an injustice to how brilliant he is as a photographer, story teller and I have a feeling as a person too. Alas, I thought I will leave a few simple words for him because keeping one's impression about someone hidden inside is not what I learned from him. I have not been privileged enough to meet him yet and I don't know if I ever will be but the inspiration that he has been to me since I started Flickring regularly is something I will carry with me forever! I wish him all the best for his personal and photographic life!"

"More strong then ever you finally came back, NAYEEM !
And maybe this is just a personal first impression, but the devastating chaos seems to have dissapeared from inside your head, clarity and peace have returned into your inner soul....The last couple of images you shared are of such a beauty and thoughtfullness that only can come from a man who always knew, felt and registered the world around him in a most magical way, now added with a determination that adorns his deep personality beautifully
I truly am glad with your coming back, NAYEEM...truly hope you will stay with us for quite some time"25th September, 2011

"And then, there is NAYEEM KALAM- the master of photography.
Personally, he is my most favorite photographer. And I dont see that changing anytime in the future!
This guy tells stories like no one else. He picks out characters from the real world and presents them to you with sheer honesty! His eccentric character and honest views are bound to leave you awestruck. You’ll hardly see anything non-living in his stream, and even if you do, he’ll present it to you in such a way that it will come alive!
An elder brother to me, he has a huge hand in what I've achieved as a photographer myself.
Mark my words, he will be one of the most renowned photographers of our times,it will be interesting how and when the world comes to know about him."23rd September, 2011

"I feel very honored and lucky to have found Nayeem!
With my hand on my heart I must confess that I`ve never met a man as honest as Nayeem before. It is a rare and beautiful gift not many of us humans have. His photos and his thoughts are very touching, strong, beautiful and stunningly honest! His work is also remarkable meaningful!
A photographer`s captures reflects the heart of the person behind the camera as well. And that for sure shows that Nayeem is a man with a warm and honest heart!
I`ve promised to myself that I have to visit him one day!"18th May, 2010

"I have to be honest, this is some of the best photojournalism on Flickr. Nayeem has taken everyday life and turned it into something that is real and full of emotions. He captures life as it is with as much grace as one can! Hardcore truth comes from his pictures and it is amazing. I truly enjoy looking at his photos, everyday is a new adventure. He opens our eyes to another way of being, suffering and surviving in his part of the world. It makes you thankful everyday..."

"Nayeem, son truc c'est l'humanité! S'il s'écoutait il photographierait chaque visage de ce monde pour nous restituer des choses simples comme le bonheur, la fierté, l'humilité, la bonté, l'amour des autres! Toutes ses images nous parlent, et ça c'est le talent, son talent!"

fogline says:
"To be involved in flickr, one comes across a world of talent…some good; some great; some with potential, etc…then there are the ones who simply knock your socks off…the few who see a unique world in a way that might very well otherwise go unnoticed. The power within the naïve thoughts of an artist can rarely be completely understood. It’s a type of freedom…an enviable freedom. When I first viewed the work of NAYEEM, I felt so much emotion that I quickly turned away…Now, it’s my first and last and a few in between stops. With every visit, there awaits me a study in life…a futility…a feeling of hope; of hopelessness and pain; of a world I know nothing about. NAYEEM is a teacher who knows his craft well. Through his uncensored and powerful descriptions, and spontaneous imagery, he is able to present his corner of the world like no one else…we know his family…we know the beggars on the beat…the vendors…we know the good times…AND the bad times and we know the splendor of the region. To me, the refuge in flickr wouldn’t have nearly the glow without the artistry and humanity exhibited by my friend, NAYEEM"

Sailing "Footprints: Real to Reel" (Ronn ashore) says:
"I have also appreciated the photos Nayeem posted but things have changed a bit. We have met and spent time both talking and shooting together in the streets of Bangkok.
Although young, and still in need of finding a little more balance and possible peace of mind I was surprised at how mature Nayeem's view of the world are and how in fact, looking at the images again a new depth seems to appear.
Many younger photographers tend to get stuck in trying to make images that impress themselves or others with their own abilities. There photos can get to a point they almost grab the viewer by the throat and scream "Look!!!".
Nayeem is not such a photographer. His love of people and the world around him is evident when we speak. Yes there is still some enthusiasm for other than what he depicts as a consequence of what he seems but his main focus os what counts.
I hope he continues to pursue his photography and gets the support he needs to feel justified in the way he should feel.
Thats for the visit here Nayeem, we will meet again I am sure..."15th August, 2009

"I love the variety and creativeness of his work...
He travels to so many places that I may never get to and reports to us all.
His family work is truly done with love.
He is like a FATHER to me - NO WAIT - he said that about ME!
He is the great neighbor and friend who just happens to live 6000 miles away - so that is kind of next door to the Chicago suburbs!!
Thank you for your work AND friendship...."15th February, 2009

© noborders says:
"What strikes me in Nayeem’s photos is his keen interest for the lives of all the people he meets, from family members to Burmese refugees in Bangladesh or a Nigerian migrant in London, or to security guards, brick factory workers, shop owners or bar managers in their work place : clearly he can make everyone talk and it's great that he's explaining each situation with a few sentences.
Thanks to him we can also enter into middle class homes from Bangladesh, which is not very common here -- his gallery is basically like a sort of diary, telling about his life, his joy to be a father and his sadness not to be all the time near his little daughter. He had even the guts to shoot during difficult personal moments, like the departure of a girlfriend and this is really moving – what a great gift he has, to be able to express himself so easily and with such a passion !
All his stories are so interesting and moving and his gallery, a great example to follow ."11th December, 2008

"Nayeem bhai (Nayeem Kalam) is one of the earliest contacts of mine in flickr, and from the very beginning I am a big fan of his B&W works. Only a true artist can bring out art from the simple materials around him, he is one of them. Besides the B&W, you will feel his mastery in colour, too. Photographers of the film age were real genius, he is continuously proving that very fact.
Nayeem bhai, there is lot inside you and in your works from where we can learn. So, don't look back brother, keep going, keep enriching us..."11th December, 2008
