I am primarily a librarian and writer. My husband gave me a digital camera in the spring of 2008 and I first became interested in the demolition of Filene's Department Store in Boston and then started taking pictures of the ever-changing street scene around me every day.
Most of my photos are "candid" street shots of the people of Boston. Since I am often literally shooting "from the hip" (so my subjects have no self-conscious sensation of being photographed), the pose and image are natural, but the technical aspects of the photographs sometimes suffer. It's a trade-off, but, I hope, worth it.
