Trees For Haiti, a Food For The Poor venture, aims to make Haiti more green and self-sufficient by planting 500,000 fruit trees across Haiti.

Haiti, once a lush tropical paradise, today suffers from the ravages of deforestation. With it's rainforest about 97 percent deforested, Haiti is now vulnerable to flash floods from tropical rains. The soil quality is deteriorating, and the people are starving.

But through Trees For Haiti, Food For The Poor looks to restore Haiti's rich, thriving ecosystem. For only $10, Food For The Poor will plant a fruit tree in Haiti, offering a chance to go green and provide a healthy and continual source of food.
