I fell in love with Bambi so many decades ago and have been hunting (with a camera only) deer ever since.

I grew up in CT near Long Island Sound and spent much of my time at the shore and I still love being near the water. As a teen I babysat for the owners of the marina in town and spent a considerable amount of time on yachts and sea planes as a result but never owned either.

I don't know how to sail but I have taken hundreds (some of the sailors would say thousands) of sailing pics at the man-made lake not far from where I live.

I have two dogs and they are the reason(s) I spend so much time in the forest preserves. My dogs are both Shelties and I got them as puppies 8 years ago. I tried to adopt from the Sheltie Rescue but they wouldn't consider me because I don't have my own fenced-in backyard -- and apparently this makes me unfit. But my dogs have better lives than most dogs that have the fenced-in backyard. But, am I bitter? No -- because I have the two best dogs in the whole world -- or, I am told, at least in North America.

I describe myself as "taken" because I dropped out of that market many years ago! :-)

I am retired, which gives me a lot of time to spend stalking deer and sailors while taking my dogs to our front yard (Deer Grove Forest Preserve) and our backyard (Busse Woods Forest Preserve).
