Okay so it's not exactly a "farm" but sometimes that's how it feels. We love animals so much it's hard to turn any away. As a child my parents were nice enough to allow me to try out just about every pet under the sun. Unfortunately back then good information was hard to come by and what the guy at the Pet Store told you was all you had to go by. As an adult when I rediscovered my love of the pet hobby I became passionate about raising strong healthy animals with proper husbandry. I had all the information I needed at my fingertips now and I wanted to share this with others.
I began Greathouse Farm as a venue for my Lionhead Rabbits but that soon grew into much more. Two years ago my herp passionate son asked me if I would help him breed his bearded dragon. He was 7 then. He was given the task of reading several books to learn the requirements for breeding. He gave up two birthdays and a Christmas to help fund the project (We still got him presents;) He plans to travel the world and study animals of all kinds... "scaly are the best" he says.
My personal goal is to be able to raise Captive Bred Seahorses in the coming year. They are largely being wiped out by divers who bring wild caught specimens into the aquarium trade. Captive bred seahorses are not only more likely to survive but they detour the practice of dive captures. We strive to keep all of our endeavors humane and environmentally friendly. We farm and raise our own feeder insects and organic vegetables.

Greathouse Farm is a small family operated hobby breeder of our own beloved pets. We always encourage adoption from a shelter as a first option. We limit our breeding practices to benefit the future health and preservation of the species. All of our animals are our pets first and foremost and we hope to spread the love of these animals to others.
