I'm still a professional amateur when it comes to photography. Looking forward to the day when I can devote some serious time to improving my skills at this hobby I enjoy so much...

We left Hawaii after three wonderful years for a short stay in beautiful Alabama--we will be here until summer 2012. Before Hawaii, we lived in China for two and a half years. Have been very pleased to discover that all three places--and everywhere else along the way, for that matter--have been photography paradises... I take pictures to record memories, to create an archive of personal and shared experiences, to convey a little of what I saw and did in life with present and future family and friends. These pictures are my journal.

After years of point and shoot cameras, I now mostly shoot with a Canon 450D XSi which I purchased shortly before leaving China. Love it! I carry the 17-85 IS USM as my walk-around lens (like it reasonably well) and the 70-300 IS USM (absolutely love it) as my long range zoom. I plan to move up to L-series lenses and then a full frame DSLR when my budget allows.
