peaceofpi studio is the creative workspace of artisan JoMo, working in fiber arts and mixed media, finding creative freedom in both painting and stitching, exploring each separately and as integrated mediums.

Working in acrylics & mixed media, paintings are highly textured observing the beauty of wear, aging and imperfection. Ideas are often expressed indirectly inviting thoughtfulness and dialogue.

A passion for paint also translates to textiles & embroidery, painting fabric, needle felting and creating intentionally imperfect & tattered pieces with hand sewing.

Art & craftwork celebrates the handmade touch. Pieces reflect modern interpretations of living a simplified life in the midst of a consumerist culture. Birds feature prominently to symbolize both the commonplace and the mysterious.

Work is mostly smaller scale - from 2 inches up to about 12, sometimes going wild with a 16 or 24 inch piece.


Studio practice is to recycle and use non-toxic, environmentally friendly materials.



Amazed and thankful and in a big fan of all the talented bird photographers on flickr who share the images they've captured while kneeling on moist leaves; standing motionless for hours on end; lurking in the wetlands/forest/jungle. Thanks for capturing great bird moments that inspire & amaze.
