Avid silk ribbon embroiderer, photographer, gardener and traveller. I love the look of thread painting and stumpwork.

I love the whole process of designing and creating, it's such a great feeling.

I have an interior design background working mostly on office spaces, this gives my work a split personality in terms of my style. Some of it will be decorative and some of it will be more stylized and contemporary. It all depends on what ideas I come up with and what the ribbon or fabric says to me. The design process isn't static, it’s always evolving, so I will always be exploring and trying different ways of working with my chosen medium.

When I first started crafting, I was working in needlepoint and discovered the work of Kaffe Fasset. I was impressed with his way of using color and design that was so different from the traditional methods. I’m also inspired by the work of glass artist Dale Chihuly, another artist who ‘thinks outside the box’ when it comes to the medium he works in. That's what I like to do too, take the medium and see what I can do with it, not what the instructions tell me to do with it.
