Gary Warren Niebuhr is the Library Director for the Village of Greendale in Wisconsin. He is the author of READ ‘EM THEIR WRITES: A HANDBOOK FOR MYSTERY AND CRIME BOOK DISCUSSIONS (Libraries Unlimited, 2006), which was nominated for an Anthony Award. His MAKE MINE A MYSTERY (Libraries Unlimited, 2003) won the Macavity Award, the Anthony Award, and The Kenneth Kingery Scholarly Book Award from the Council for Wisconsin Writers. He is the author of A READER’S GUIDE TO THE PRIVATE EYE NOVEL (G. K. Hall, 1993) which was nominated for an Anthony Award. His private eye short story, OVER THERE, appears on the Summer 2004 issue of HARDLUCK STORIES. Gary received the 2002 Don Sandstrom Memorial Award for Lifetime Achievement in Mystery Fandom. He was the Fan Guest of Honor at the 2004 Bouchercon: the World Mystery Convention and at the 1995 Magna Cum Murder. He received the 2005 Margaret E. Monroe Award from the American Library Association in recognition of his contribution to the development of adult services in libraries.
