I work as an e-Learning Advisor at the University of Leeds for the JISC Regional Support Centre (Yorkshire & Humber).
A large part of my role is to help organisations embed appropriate technologies into their teaching and learning strategies, with an emphasis on how libraries specifically can make best use of technology. I’m not an advocate of technology for technology’s sake, but I am enthusiastic about how technology can help to personalise and bring fun to learning as well as improve the overall experience for the learner.
Out of work I enjoy spending time with family and friends, running (mainly half marathons, but have been known to do a few fell races and novelty challenge runs), travelling (especially to Wales and Cyprus), playing pool, listening to music (mainly rock and classical), table tennis, reading (all sorts), geocaching, writing/blogging and drinking real ale.
