My name is Elvis Pring. As many can obviously tell I like to take pictures. I was born in the suburbs of Modesto, CA. My parent whom immagrated here from their country that has gone though hard ship has found new life here in America. I am the first generation of my kind and I feel that I have a lot to contribute. My main goal is to study photography in college. I plan on majoring in Photojournalism. I don't want to be that type of journalist that goes around bugging people for a story, I don't like and want to be a paparazzi. I want people to express themselves by choice with a picture an a small interview. I want to gather stories of those without a voice. Even a small voice and reach far. I am inspired too easily by the story of others. No one has the same stories and there are billions out there. I don't plan on interviewing the rich class people, but those that have had an even deeper impact from experiences that were harsh and hard for them.

The photographers that have inspired me the most are Trey Ratcliff and Steve McCurry. There works inspired me deeply to get into photography. Most of my time on the internet consist of looking at most of their work. But Steve McCurry inspired me big time after looking at his work on War, portraits, nature, religion, and other topics. I love how his work just captured my attention. Most of the time I'm still looking at the picture with awe. I am in an AP Photography class, and I learned so much from the class. I started off as an amateur photographer, then progressed towards a professional appeal. I didn't do it for the grade in the class, but mostly because I wanted to test out various photoshopping, and picture taking techniques. If I would go back to the first day of school in that class, the thing I would change the most is the commitment level. I knew I wanted to succeed in this class, and my teacher gave us various challenges, and techniques to show off what we can do. Mr. Emmert is a great teacher, because he allowed us to cooperate with one another as photographers to talks about pictures at a professional level (well sort of). He also taught us some photoshopping techniques. I can honestly say he is the third person that inspired me to keep going in the class. I never gave up, because he knew I had a lot to learn, and a lot of potential.

I love to take pictures for fun, because I know every part of my life needs a moment to be captured. Life is precious, and we won't live long to see tomorrow. Every picture is a precious moment and an artistic expression. My work is sort of random. I have no official technique I use. I am a learner. I learn from the best, that is what AP Photography is all about. My work is to inspire not only others, but myself, and absorbed what I have done. Looking back at my work I think to myself and analyze my mistakes. I critique my work, then ask others fro their opinion of the work. Art is a gift and I don't want to waste it.
