I am an adopted child. to give my complete name first names and surnames of parents, birth and adoptive , It would go something like this Dennis, Jeff, Messer, Walker, Scrivner, Newman. And some wonder why we have a hard time knowing who we really are. Birth parents were from Hazard / Allais ( Walkers Hollow ) Kentucky, Adoptive parents from Alabama. But that is a long story. Here is the short version. I grew up on the side of Red Mountain on Green Springs Ave and spent most of my days exploring the mountain and it's iron ore mining history. I am a life long resident of the Birmingham Area, Attended Glen Iris Elementary School and Ramsay High School. I enjoy music and played in a few bands over the years, until my Career at Bellsouth did away with all of my free time.. I am now semi retired and work part time for Red Mountain Park. I am back spending time on the mountain that calls my name and doing something I really enjoy. There is no other place I would rather spend the rest of my useful years. Red Mountain Park will one day be a very bright and positive part of Birmingham. I have 3 grand children that I adore and love. I will share more time doing things with them as they get older and also will teach them the history of Red Mountain. I enjoy driving the back roads of the area and taking photos and sharing them with others. Photos are like small windows into the mind, where you can see the things that people find interesting and enjoy doing. ............ Try to do something you enjoy every week. Life is to short to be stressed out all the time.. We want to be good friends and neighbors, church members ( if you are one ) and a good employee ( retired AT&T ) and do all we can for them. But they will drain the life out of you if you let them. I know I have been there recently. But do not let them steal all your free time and the joy in your life. Sometimes you just have to say NO, I'm sorry but I can't do that and make some time for yourself and your family. If they get mad, they will get over it, if they are really your friend. If they stay mad, so be it, your better off without them. Now go, see new things, read a book and learn something new, enjoy life.

Life is tough, But life is tougher if your stupid... "quote John Wayne.
