My two main interests in life have been natural history and photography, often combining the two, but I kind of lost my way with photography during the change from film to digital and for a long time was only photographing moths and butterflies with a compact digital camera. However, inspired by what I have seen on flickr, I am making an effort to broaden my range of subjects. I love to see what some people can achieve with post processing, creating landscapes that look like paintings and I enjoy attempting to do the same but my lack of artistic ability usually lets me down!

I have a fairly large garden, mostly managed as a mini nature reserve, and grow vegetables on two allotments which keeps me very busy and does not really leave enough time for a lot of photography so I do not have a prodigious output.

I am not too keen on groups with compulsory multi-commenting and/or faving (post 1 comment 1 is fine) as it can become a bit meaningless. However, all comment and critique of my work is greatly appreciated, even if you point out all the flaws in my photographs!

I try and comment regularly on my contacts work though I struggle to keep up with their output sometimes.

Please ask before using any of my photographs, I have never refused any request so far and am unlikely to do so in the future.
