I was born in Los Angeles and grew up in southern California, but I’ve lived in Colorado since 1986. I'm a Colorado State University grad with a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Biology. I'm a recovering computer geek after spending many years in the IT world (I'm an old school NT4 MCSE).

I love the outdoors, especially birding and bird photography. I'm also an aviation nut (not a pilot, though). I've done so many things it's hard to adequately describe my background here. Most of my photos include map data and I try to make each as accurate as possible.

I use Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3.6 for my primary image processing software. I also use Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 but I need to buy a couple of books so I can at least learn the basics.
