Originally from Vila do Carvalho, Covilha, Portugal, a very small village I have always been close to nature, especially in its wilder aspects, probably because of living on the mountain side.
No doubt because of my early intimate contact with nature I have a deep and acute perception of beauty in all its aspects. Helping my father with his flock of sheep in the rugged and desolate Serra Da Estrela or lending a hand to my grandmother around the farm has given me my inner calm and penetrating vision.
I have been living in London now since 2003 and although I miss my mountains and captivating scenery I carry them with me in my head and use what they have taught me to explore this fantastically varied country and to record in photography its matchless beauty.

This photo was taken of my early stage of my unknown ambition for landscape photography, i was trying HDR and it worked quite well, i am pleased for the cloudy weather at the time it gave a mood to the seen,

This fences really got my atention during my visit to Blea Tarn lake, Cumbria, i decided to pop around and have a closer look i love this view with the trees in the foreground. 6 sec. @f16 Lee Filter .9S ND



After a couple of hours waiting for the light at L'Houmeau bay, France. finally the light was hidden behind the clouds and produced a fantastic effect.

A friend of mine told me to go and see Dungeness, as i did i headed down to see the location with old boats all over, Dungeness is also home to a unique variety of wildlife and more than 600 different types of plants – about one third of all plants found throughout the UK. Also Dungeness is one of the best places in Britain to find rare species of moths, butterflies, bees, beetles and spiders. Many of the insects not to be found anywhere else.
