natural wonders photography - View my most interesting photos on Flickriver

I am the wife of Michael, whom many of you know as A Walk on the Wild Side Nature Photography, www.flickr.com/photos/nature_shots/ , and the proud mom of Gage, now aged 15.(My profile photos are a few years old, Gage is now WAY taller than mom :-) . I have been the single hold-out in this talented family of photographers (our nephew, Craig, is also an experienced "shooter") for many, many years. My previous experience with photography has been limited to $8.00 throw-away cameras with which I was prone to cut off the heads, and sometimes feet too, of my subjects. After years of following my passionate husband around on his photo shoots (sometimes with our good friends James and Blake Shadle) and waiting hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and..............well, you get the idea :-)
I finally decided I might as well get in on the action.

I am the proud recipient of a Nikon D300 and a Nikkor 18-200mm lens (as of 2011, I am also using a Nikkor 80-400mm lens), which I used for the first time on January 10, 2009 . I am posting some of my feeble attempts. I hope that you will enjoy them, (or at least not laugh too hard)--after all, I expect to get better. I'm not sure I will ever understand the ins and outs of the settings required of "real" photography, but who knows, I'm feeling brave in my old age!

I still remain the social half of the wild side team, so you will see me around Flickr in both my personas, but this site is the one where my work will be displayed.

Thanks for visiting, now get out there and start clicking. The natural wonders provided for us by our Creator are just waiting for you. (JW)

But always remember to have respect for all the "wild things" we love to watch and photograph. This site gives some tips and reminders for all nature photographers:

"Whenever Deborah (Natural Wonders Photography) posts a photograph I have to make sure I take notice of it. Her photographs are just so intriguing and wonderful. They always evoke some emotion. But always a joy to view. Sometimes I get totally absent minded in leaving her comments, so therefore I had to write her a testimonial, letting her know how much I really admire her photography and its wonderful to have her as a contact, and letting me peek at all her photographs thats she posts to flickr."

"Deb has such great talent not only with her words but with her photography. Her photos tell a story that I love to read each and every time she posts one.For a long time she wasn't sure of her photographic abilities but she is one of the most talented photographers I know here on flickr. I am so glad that she has decided to explore the world of pictures through her own lens. She is always most generous and gracious with her comments and I am honored to call her my friend."
