Join Explorer Todd "Turtle" Carmichael as he goes to the South Pole.

Come with me as I attempt - once again - to trek across Antarctica to the South Pole - solo unsupported and unaided - something no other American has accomplished.

I leave November 9, 2008 - I will be uploading images of my last attempt over the coming months.

During my trek in November, I will be regularly updating my Flickr account with new photos and dispatches via my satellite phone.

The hitch? Nothing, other than I am asking everyone to join me in e-mailing Mr. Stephen Johnson, the Chief of the Environment Protections Agency (EPA), to kindly ask him to set stricter auto emission standards.

Cars and trucks are one of the largest point sources of heat-trapping greenhouse gas in the United States - and the EPA has been dragging its heels for years.

As the world warms, the North and South Poles are beginning to experience the impacts. Bringing in tougher vehicle emissions standards in the US, is one way we can help save our poles!
