About me and my cameras: I've worn glasses since I was four (that was in Illinois in 1966, you can do the math) and I couldn't see the notes at my piano lessons. Even so, I really enjoy what I can see, and have been taking pictures since I was in 5th grade. First an instamatic, then a tiny little Minox 35mm to travel to Europe in 1979, and finally went digital in 2002 with an Olympus C-3020 (most water pix). I've occassionally borrowed my daughter's Fuji.Finepix A330 (all Ireland pix, some California pix). Now I also use a little Kodak C875 I take everywhere. I've lived several places in the US: midwest, east coast, west coast, and south.

My photography style: I suspect that my interest in photography is a blend of a misguided attempt to deny impermanence and a more altruistic desire to share those moments that I've enjoyed. I love exploring how much information we need to recognize something. This infuencenced the matching game and the guessing games mentioned above.

It was my eye doctor who told me about Flickr. When deciding what to upload first I finally realized it was not just color and variety that I love, but also shape and contrast, so I uploaded black and whites first. Then one day the prism cast a rainbow in the sink and the result is the Games with light and water Set. I have learned so much about photography and perspective from all of you since I joined. Thanks.

Other interests: When I'm not taking (or editing) pictures, making friends around the world on Flickr or doing taiji I'm usually working with Essential Education www.essential-education.org and their 16 Guidelines for Life initiative www.16Guidelines.org . Or I might be teaching music lessons to about 30 students a week (piano, guitar, bass, etc.), or enjoying my family (my husband three kids and my sister). Life is good.
