What does tolteca pilo means, anyway?

In ancient Mexico, the Toltec culture was regarded with high knowledge of art and science well after their dispersion after their civil war. Many fled to many parts of Mexico, including Quetzalcoatl who went to Chichen Itza. As new nations appeared in Central Mexico, the ideal of being a "toltec" was regarded worthy of imitating. A new order grew up, in which everybody went back again to the arts. As time passed, the word toltecatl or tolteca became a title synonymous for "artist".

And Pilo, well, that is me.

About my drawings

I am interested in art and all things artistic. Even when I have never studied it, I love to draw (pencil and charcoal).

My drawings are mainly about female models, or female body parts. It is mainly for one reason, women are harder to draw. It is more difficult for me to draw women than men because they are created in such perfection that is difficult to duplicate.

Besides my passion of drawing, I also do photography. But in this account I collect all my art creations, that is, not related to photography at all.

I also do some drawing based on Mexican Indigenous artistic canons. My favorite time in Mexican history is the Classical, the Golden Age from the artistic point of view. So I tend to mimic Teotihuacan imagery, as well as Mayan.

Where do I draw?

I usuall draw without anybody seeing me, in my studio room. It's just a fancy name for a room full of dusty books, things unorganized.

Can I draw you?

If you want to be drawn, try to give me an interesting photograph of yourself. For example one that shows your body or parts of your body, I don't like drawing clothing when I can be drawing something made by a higher being, that is, your body. Your face should also be in a cool angle, rather than the typical driver license pic. For the moment I only do drawings, I still have to manage paintings. Again, I didn't study any of these, I have learned by myself.

Sobre mis dibujos

Me gusta mucho el dibujo al carbon y al lapiz, tambien uso colores en pasteles.

Principalmente dibujo la figura femenina, o partes de su cuerpo. Me he concentrado en la figura femenina por su dificultad, ya que considero que las mujeres son creadas tan perfectas. Pueden ver algunos desnudos y semidesnudos de mis trabajos.

Aunque dibujo en papel, tambien experimento en carton y piedras.

Puedo dibujarte?

Me encanta dibujar retratos, o tambien cuerpos enteros. Si te gusta el arte, o estas interesada(o) en un retrato, porfavor contactame por este medio, o si no a mi correo tlacuilopilo(arroba)yahoo.com . Solo necesito una buena foto, es decir clara y que no salgas de frente como en una fotografia de identificacion.
