Maureen Bond's photostream

I enjoy Photography. In all forms.
It's not the camera, it's the shooter. Your vision & creativity.
Experimenting with different techniques creates pleasure from the
inconvenience and challenge of taking a picture in that way, and the satisfaction
of using cameras in a way they weren't intended to be used. The knowledge that
you're taking the long scenic route to your results and not the short-cut is rewarding.
So, I say, enjoy the process for what it is, and don't see other photographers
as 'competitors' .
In the end, I believe that it's not the tools you use but what you do with them.
Using a (fill in the blank camera) won't make you a great photographer and
amazing art can be created using the simplest of toys. That's what really counts -
not the method or technology.
I put love and soul into my artwork and that is what's important to me.

"A visit to Maureen's photostream is always an unalloyed pleasure. She treats every subject with respect, but has a sharp eye for whimsy. A keen eye for detail marks all of her work, but she's never repetitive or pedantic. Everything flows naturally from her brain to her camera to the screen in front of you. You could wade into her photostream for days on end and never lose interest."

"Maureen amazes me. Her images are both artistic and homely, welcoming the eye to explore the colours and the light, and her comments are always warm and supportive.
You share my fascination for classic cars, Maureen, and I am always inspired by your next junk yard session. I am looking forward to meet you in California and I will be honoured to shoot poppy fields with you!"4th May, 2010

"I always look forward to seeing Maureen's latest upload and am never disappointed - I admire her range of subjects and techniques - always looking to learn and thereby providing inspiration for others. One of her greatest abilities is to show the Western United States and Southern California in particular in such an individual and unusual way. I love the desert shots especially."

"Maureen, you are one of the first people to comment on a photo I uploaded when I started my flick account. You helped me see that flickr is a bit more than just uploading photos, but a place to learn, share and grow and ask questions. I appreciate so much that you continue to visit my stream and be apart of my life. I respect you as a photographer and love your work. I can certainly testify that you are an exceptional contact and I appreciate you and our flickr relationship. Thank you :-)
Sincerely,
Anthony"15th December, 2009

"Maureen , you have an exquisite eye and when you turn your camera lens towards your subjects, that eye is expressed in the most incredible way. Some of my favorite images on flickr have been yours. You inspire me every day to be a better photographer. Thank you for that,"

"Maureen Bond has an awesome eye for shooting those things in life that pass most by. She is a master at composition, light, color and processing. I admire her skills and have learned so much from her choices of subjects in her photostream.
Maureen is very generous with her comments and through these comments she has shown things to me in my own photos that perhaps I didn't even see when choosing a particular shot. She is such an inspiration to me and I value her opinion greatly. Maureen is a true jewel in our Flickr neighborhood!"23rd April, 2009

"Maureen was one of my first Flickr contacts, I remember being so blown away by her wonderful talent of taking the ordinary and making it extraordinary! Her rusty, crusty abandoned treasures and storytelling style make her photostream just so fantastic to view and absorb.. Some of my favorites include her gorgeous classic car collection, her photo journalistic shots of Ghost towns, and of course the majestic Napa Valley wine country views. Please take the time to look through her fabulous photostream, she is also a sweet and giving contact who gives the best personal comments, I know she is a real GEM just like her photos : )"

"Maureen's work is extraordinary. Her photographs are works of art and one can always find a story within the photos. Each time I visit her photostream, her photos grab my attention right away because of all the rich colors and textures. She is also one of my favorite Flickr friends because she takes the time to visit and comment on others work. : ) I'm a big fan! Brilliant and superb work Maureen, keep it up, I always look forward to your newest uploads."

"I really enjoy viewing Maureen's photostream. She gravitates towards subjects that I don't normally shoot - like classic cars - but that's one of the reasons I enjoy her work so much. Her shots are always nicely composed and are usually quite colorful. I love it when she goes to the farmers' market! ;)
She is also very generous with her comments about my photos, and she has inspired me to join some groups that I may not have discovered otherwise. I am glad to have Maureen as my Flickr friend."9th September, 2008
