I am a working stiff with a growing appreciation and love of photography. I am interested in all types of art, but I've never really had the ability to produce something artistic in any form. I love music and tried my hand early in life to play the guitar and trumpet. Although I was okay on the trumpet, I knew it was not something I'd be really good at. Drawing, painting, and just about any other form of art was just not in me.

What I do have is a way with machines and equipment. It is almost like they are a living being to me. I learn their strengths and weaknesses and how to push both when necessary, but mostly how they work and how to keep them working.

I experimented with photography as a young adult and although I loved it and found it very enjoyable, I really didn't have much knowledge on the subject. The cost of it was a huge hindrance back then, and the camera spent more time in the closet than in my hands. After a recent trip to Spain with a Nikon 990, I decided that I wanted to try again and would need something that would allow me to do more with photography and create my own art. I bought a Nikon D80 about a year ago and have been working with it ever since. I love it.

I am not nearly the photographer that I would like to be, but step by step I feel I am getting a little closer. I have taken a couple of courses and have read some books, but it is the practice and experience that I need that will help me achieve my goals. I am currently looking for feedback and maybe some constructive criticism. Tell me what you like and what you don't like. I have also realized that development is very key to this art form. Yet one more thing to learn. So, if you are so inclined, a little feedback in that area would also be appreciated.
