About the photographer
Jayson Brinkler, a former musician, first became involved in photography in 1988, when he bought a camera to photograph the musicians and people around him. It was this encounter with the camera that he discovered his fascination in recording people.
Now with a Degree in photography, Brinkler’s work is now among the permanent collections of the National Portrait Gallery, the National Museum of Film Photography & Television, the London Transport Museum, the Dublin City Archive, the archives of the Royal Star and Garter and the National Army Museum.
Although Jayson has photographed the famous, he prefers to focus on extraordinary people who have experienced real life and recording their personal life’s history. His previous work has focused on subjects including the London Homeless, Artists, the faces of film, music & television, Film Directors, a study on the human form of babies, capturing the first moments of human existence, and is currently working on his forthcoming book 'Centenarians' documenting the lives of 100 living Centenarians who have witnessed an entire Century. He is also working on a project entitled 'Born Survivors' focusing on people who have survived major events in history, and has already included Millvina Dean, the last remaining survivor of the Titanic. Jayson Brinkler has also exhibited work at the National Portrait Gallery, The Marlare Theatre, Canterbury, the Chelsea Arts Club, and has featured on BBC’s Blue Peter and on the American T.V network PBS.
Most of Jayson's photostream images are taken on 120 roll film using 6x6 or 6x7. All his Portrait work are shot on TRI-X using a Mamiya RB 67 Pro S or Rolleiflex 2.8F.
His digital kit consists of a Canon 5D and uses a Mac.

"your centenaries, this fantastic project, its an exquisite visit to infinite wisdom at their eyes, each of these images shows an entire and pure life, with pride they take their belonging space and for a moment and forever they start to exist into your work, into the Infinite Liblary, and living again in our minds"

"What strikes me most in your photo's is it seems like you peelled off all unnecessary layers, without the photographed losing their dignity. you show the beauty/dignity in the people you portray. Every person is worth it being here...................."

"It's nice to have had the pleasure of Jaysons friendship for ten years. I have been out with him on a couple of shoots, as has my daughter. Jayson always trys to be helpfull on shoots even when concentrating on what he is doing. He Is a very good printer and thats what makes his work so good. I wish him every success in his future and look forward to his book/s being published. ( I get the second copies of the first editions and signed. My cut for pushing him. LOL.)"
