I find I'm always learning, and grateful for the people who share their vision and talents just by posting their images. Even better than the exposure to others techniques, I love getting to see so many different corners of world I may of never known existed otherwise.

If you are interested in purchasing prints, using images for publication, or for inclusion in your website/blog, please contact me through Flickr mail and I will be happy to get back to you.

Due to the amount of people who use flickr for the unsanctioned download of images:

1) Full/original size viewing of my photos is made available (at this time) only to those who I've made a contact.

2) Any contact requests from those who either do not have any photos on their photostream or have nothing but pornographic images/groups will result in the requester being automatically blocked.

Luminosity

Equipment:
Tags will usually specify what was used for a given image. Most pictures taken prior to mid 08 were taken with a Nikon D40x. From then until May 2010, I used whatever I had on hand, either P&S or camera phone. Currently using a Nikon D5000.

Serendipity

Software:

Nikon's Capture NX. Nikon cameras have an incredible capacity to capture color in such a perfect way, and because of this very little post-processing is usually necessary.

Unchain the colours before my eyes..

Note on Exif Data:

The current settings for the availability of exif data for photos on flickr is off due to the fact that the comments field in my exif data contains personal information in the event that the camera was lost or stolen. Should flickr decide in the future to permit users to selectively block some of these fields, or better yet, allow us to show exif data on an individual photo basis, this will no longer be a issue. But as it stands, I cannot edit this field for over 200+ photos and then re-upload in order to make it available. If you are interested in the setting info for any photo, don't hesitate to inquire.

THIS SECTION FOR FLICKR MEMBERS/CONTACTS ONLY (flickr philosophy)

Faving/Commenting other's images:

I generally go about faving/commenting when honestly moved by something I see, rather than playing a game of keeping score. Some days I just fav images, others I will comment or both - there is no rhyme or reason other than occasional time/energy constraints, my level of appreciation for the images I encounter and/or my ability to express myself effectively on any given day.

Adding Contacts:
If I've added you as a contact..
it is because I somehow stumbled upon your stream, genuinely enjoy your work and want to be able to come back to it and see what new photos you bring to your pages - please consider it a complement and nothing less.

Am trying not to gather too many contacts, although it's difficult, as there are so many photographers here that I enjoy! As a rule, I generally do not reciprocate contact requests from those who appear to be 'collecting' contacts and nothing more. Other than this, if you make me a contact first and I do not reciprocate, please do not take offense, as I've had to become more selective in an attempt to keep my contact numbers at a more manageable level.

Reciprocating Favs/Comments:
I know that some in flickr community get insulted if you don't reciprocate a compliment within a certain unspoken time frame they have decided upon as acceptable. While it's a nice thing to have your work appreciated, we're all human, most have lives outside flickr which do get hectic from time to time, and we all make the occasional mistake. If you can't accept that.. you're here for the wrong reasons.

I believe reciprocating is important and make every effort to do so. If in the process of doing so I reach a stream that has nothing new since I last visited or little that inspires me at the time (rare, but it happens), I will usually wait until they post something that does. Does that make any sense? I don't know.. guess what i'm saying is that actual sincerity is what is important to me ~ and if you are going to compliment someone, it should be because you actually mean it.. and not merely because you are required to or want something in return. Only then does it have any real value.

My contacts:
Outside of reciprocating, I try to go through my contacts new photos on a regular basis - I have some health constraints so if I fall behind beyond that, please be patient as I do my best to catch up when I can.

The Five Principles

SOME TOOLS I HAVE COME ACROSS WHICH COME IN HANDY:

A couple of very useful standalone scripts from DrewMeyers.. (Firefox/greasemonkey not required, but you have to be logged in to your flickr account to use these)

Find Your Contact's Recent Faves (This script is usually how I find images that are my favorites. Sometimes I stumble into the stream of someone who produces great photography that I may have never known existed otherwise. Warning, potentially addictive)

Find Your Contacts in Explore: Great way to keep up with your contacts images that have made it to Explore.

A script I discovered, created by GustavoG and hosted by jbum..
Contact Crossing: Helps you see which contacts are nonreciprocal and which are mutual.. and helps you decide from there those you might want to eliminate when you find you are acquiring too many to do them justice.

Also, I recently came across the following, suggested by another flickr member, Thomas Hawk (many thanks for sharing this with us all, btw!).. App was created by another flickr member, Alto Maltés. Have yet to fully explore... (but may be the ultimate answer to this issue, we shall see)

-------------------------------------------------------------

Miscellaneous Others:
First, the firefox add-on, which makes (almost) all things possible - Greasemonkey.

Accompanying scripts which I've used over the years, some still, (can be found here): Flickr Refer Comment, Rich Edit Tool, Flickr Photo Rank, Flickr Buddy Interesting, Flickr On Black. Those for group administration: SIC (Super Invite Comment), Flickr Group Pool Admin Warn + Delete, Flickr Groups Organizer, Flickr show all images by this user in this pool and pool sweeper, which doesn't require greasemonkey.

My list of favorites here grows with each passing day and collecting them has become an unintended passion. Below is a just a small percentage of others' work which truly speaks to me, and has helped shape my own ever-growing definition of beauty - most of which I would love to display on the walls in my home, if only there were enough rooms to hold them all..
