I am a musician and a teacher who has a passion for photography. I have recently bought an entry level DSLR and have been experimenting wiith this medium.
Despite obvious advantages, I find myself missing the feeling of committment I used to have with my 35mm SLR at the moment of clicking that shutter. It had to be just right or you were wasting resources, money, and energy.
Photography now finds itself in the paperless and printless world of flickr, where we can share our efforts with a minimum of wastage and a maximum of image manipulation techniques: not a moment too soon for the planet, I reckon.
