I have been a keen photographer for too may years to admit! I particularly love to take pictures of people and interesting faces.

I purchased my first 35mm camera at the age 12, from Wildings in Wigan, a Ricoh 500RF compact. Despite its 40mm fixed focal length lense, it boasted a 2.8 f-stop aperture and a shutter speed of up to 1/500 second! This camera allowed to me learn a lot about the technical aspect of photography, which remains with me today, focal length, depth of field, aperture, film speed, shutter speed, etc. This Ricoh camera is still fully functional, although I never use film these days. I continued to develop my photography skills at University, mainly on B&W film, and have recently resumed doing portrait and fashion studio shoots.

For the past 10 years or so I have been shooting with Canon EOS cameras and lenses. I currently use a Canon 50D DSLR with various high end Canon lenses and Speedlite strobes.

I live in the UK and work in IT, yawn, yawn. I have been recently travelling more with work, this provides an opportunity to take more photographs of people and places I am not familiar with.

My favourite place for photography is in Hong Kong, amazing people, faces, colours and buildings. If you can't take a good picture in HKG then you mustn't be able to find the button on the camera!

I am also a fully paid up member of the Church of Petrol Worship and a devout Petrolhead.

This worship of petrol also leads me to being a frustrated amateur mechanic...

My main challenge in life is a low boredom threshold, hence too many photos being posted on my flickr account!
