Gretchen Thompson is a Seattle based photographer with over 30 years of experience behind the lens. She began with photographing her pottery in natural settings.

Leaving a teaching job, Gretchen focused on nature and fine art photography, studying with Darrell Gulin, Robert Stahl, David Julian, and Freeman Patterson.
When digital photography emerged she left the film behind and she now uses Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom to "develop" her images. Her photographic images are varied but see seeks beauty from the world by striving for simplicity, design, and pattern in her images.

Teaching others to reach their photographic goals is part of Gretchen's love affair with the camera. She particularly enjoys sharing her knowledge of Photoshop, Lightroom and other digital image techniques with other photographers. Gretchen is a member of Seattle Photographic Society, Adobe Users Group, Northwest Council of Camera Clubs, National Association Professional Photographers and NANPA, North American Nature Photographers Association.
