Well, I'm 39... I live in Boise, Idaho with my partner Christopher (AKA Chubbybug) www.flickr.com/people/11304354@N05/ We have two little dogs and several vehicles. I'm an avid model collector, I have an assortment of 1:24 and 1:18's
I'm the quintessential "Jack of all trades, master of none" I'm setting this profile up to be my "Professional work" profile. God it's gonna be a bitch trying to keep the two separate! My other account is mainly just my internet image collections and other random photos I've taken. The other account is under mtnman867. This account I'm going to try and keep this for my Photography, photo based design and illustration work.
Why Cauldron Graphix?
Well, I like the word Cauldron, I know it brings up images of witches and Halloween. For me, it's more like how I picture my ideas coming forth. Bubbling up from the bottom, creating fantastic light and colors. Maybe not smelling so good, but that's par for the course.
The Cauldron is also a symbol for transformation, which I believe I'm in the middle of right now. I've been un employed for over a year and a half. I believe I'm trying to transform into something or someone who doesn't need to rely on corporate America to live.
In Greek and Roman times the Cauldron was a symbol of caves or things hidden. I believe this also reflects me in that I have lots of ideas that pop in my head and then flit away. Remaining hidden until I need the inspiration again down the road.
I graduated from Boise State University with a Bachelor's degree in Illustration and Photography. Since then I've done some odd jobs and side jobs dealing with those subjects, but, I've never had a full time job doing them.
I've been working the last few years for a major grocery company that used to be home based in Boise. Now it's under another company based in Minnesota. Needless to say, I spent the last 9 years of my life trying to work my way into that company's Marketing Department so I could try and put my skills to use. Unfortunately that just never seemed to happen. Although it wasn't a totally wasted pursuit, I did make a very good friend out of it who was the Department Admin for Marketing.
I'm currently not employed and have been that way for over a year now. I have and continue to apply for jobs on a weekly basis, but to no avail. With the economy the way it is, it's little wonder.
What I'm hoping to do with this and hoping to have happen is showcase my abilities and talents. Give people an idea of what I am capable of doing and HOPEFULLY get some jobs out of it. If I'm lucky enough.. maybe I can start making a living off my imagery and art and not have to worry about going back to work for another company who considers you a number rather than a person. I know, LOL... dream big right?
As I said before, I'm in a relationship with my Partner of 6 years www.flickr.com/people/11304354@N05/ which means I am gay (homosexual is too long!).Aside from that I'm just like any other guy, easy going, nice. And helpful to a fault. It doesn't matter who you are, what color you are or nationality you are. If we're friends and you need anything I'm there for you! This unfortunately gets me in trouble as far as being taken advantage of more often that I'd care to admit.
As to the "Gay" thing... I'm not the type of person that is obvious about it. Most people would never guess that I am.
In other words I'm out to people I care about. But, not the "OUT AND PROUD" type swinging from lace swag to lace swag screaming it out for the world to hear. I'm not putting those types down. I'm just saying that's not how I am or will be.
Some of the trades which I haven't mastered are Photography (including Product, Portrait, Event, Landscape, Architecture and Automotive), Illustration, Drawing, Painting, Model Building Painting and Detailing (and as of late custom parts making), Lawn maintenance, Home Repair and Maintenance, Automotive Detailing and Maintenance, Real Estate Home staging, and Photography, Delivery and transportation of anything and last but not least Security.
I'm sure there's a few in there I've forgotten about... but those are the ones that come to mind.
That's just about it... A sliver of my life story for you all to peruse. I enjoy feedback and like to hear any comments regarding my work. Contact me if you'd like to discuss having something photographed!
ALSO, IF ANYONE LOOKING AT MY IMAGES WANTS TO USE THEM FOR WHAT EVER REASON. ALL I ASK IS YOU ASK MY PERMISSION AND OR GIVE ME THE IMAGE CREDIT.
