As far as self expression goes, Photography has always been my first love. My Dad had a trusty Nikkormat FT when I was a kid and I was his bag caddy.

The bug really bit when I was 12 or so. A visiting photojournalist covering a local motoring event (the Bay to Birdwood) took me under his wing for the day, gave me a spare body, a lens and pockets full of slide film. I shadowed him for the day and had the time of my life.

Aside from a few short courses I'm self taught, and I know I have tonnes to learn. Part of the reason I enjoy Flickr, there are so many people to learn from.

I bought my first camera, a Nikon D200 mid 2007, after many years of borrowing other people's cameras. The images you see are from that time forward. My aim is to build a folio of consistent quality & diversity.
