I live in the mountains of far Northern California -- sparsely populated -- relatively remote -- Trinity County. Interests (past and present) include backpacking, scuba, wilderness photography -- especially wildlife photography ........ time-forgotten, remote places, old trails, rarely-visited meadows, off-trail wilderness ...... warm fires on cold evenings ..... and did I mention, wilderness backpacking .... the datum point.

Primarily I use Flickr as a back-up photo archive -- don't often post on groups -- but that being said -- appreciate people stopping by -- always delighted by comments -- and enjoy exploring the photostreams of others.

Several have asked -- named my photostream "Beyond the Trail" as a remembrance. From the early '90s up until 2007 -- had a website called "Beyond the Trail" .... possibly a few backbackers might remember it.

The original site is gone now but some of it --- 70 - 80 per cent -- was preserved thanks to the good folks over at the Way-Back Machine (Internet Archive) ..... so anyone having a few minutes to spare and wanting to take a dusty trip back in Time -- the archive address for the original Beyond the Trail -- is:
