The Seventeenth Risk Taken's photostream

My name is Avery, and I am a girl from a smallish town in Kentucky, USA. Not THAT many people live here, but I must say that we are not a buncha "Hillbilly Folk" running around like hoolagins. MOST people here are normal citizens of the United States, and yes, we wear shoes. I do not own a pair of overalls either.

I like reading and music, playing it and listening to it. I enjoy marching band and enjoying my friends company. I also regularly go to my church and youth group services.

In marching band, I am in colorguard. Last year was my first year and I did flag only. This year I tried out for rifle and sabre, and I made it! I love doing it so much, and its just about a year round effort. We start colorguard with once a week practices in Feburary, and we do this til the end of school. In the summer, the whole band has band camp for two weeks and it is quite a work out. We only go to our high school for band camp, not anywhere else. After 8-5 band camps days, and a few 9-9 everyone is like XP. Then we have practice three days a week with the band until State. (By the way, we got state back to back the year before last and the year before that! ^^) By the time state rolls around, its October, and band is over until Feburary! But we still have lots of parades and stuff.
-[update:] As of November 1, 2008, (my second year of band) we won regionals, got third in semifinals, and we got fourth place in the state. It was amazing, but it was pretty sad the night of state becuase everyone wanted so bad to beat our rivals, and another band we'd beat all season long beat us by 0.16. :( We still got fourth in STATE though!
-[update 2:] Now I have started my third year of band (Three years already?!) and my best friend Callie is doing rifle too this year. We started colorguard the same year.

At church, I go every Sunday morning and night, and Wednesday nights. We just finished a youth rally in May, and it was amazing! We had a lot of people come to Christ, and some amazing testimony and skits. It was just awesome! Our youth has been growing to amazingly large numbers of 60 and 70, for our church tat has about 175 on a Sunday morning. We have many new kids that have never been to church before and we see lives turned 180 and many salvations! God is definately moving in us. :)

I use a Polaroid T730 which is pretty much unheard of and no one else seems to use it. :( I like it though, so yay!
-[update:] I now have a Fujifilm S2000HD that I got for Christmas, 2008 from my parents. I love them to death, and I am very grateful for such a wonderful family.

Im a vegetarian, and I have been since September 7, 2007. The last meat I ate was on the night of my very first half time football performance with the band. I am strictly meatless, no fish or seafood, no cow, chicken, pig, goat, turkey, sheep, whatever. I dont eat if it once was alive minus plants. I am not vegan however, I eat milk and butter and cheese and stuff like that.

My username may take some explaining. I hope you think it sounds cool and not corny, but it actually has a reason. It means that I am 14, and that every year is a risk. Every year really is a risk! A risk of love and life, happiness and saddness. So the "Taken" part means that I have taken all fourteen of those risks and they have apperently been ok, cause here I am! ^^
-[update:] Now I have turned 15 (the day I write this!) and I am proud to say that I have had a wonderful birthday February 28th, and I love everyone that has been so nice to me to tell me happy birthday. Thank you so much!

-[update:] Even though my sister graduates this summer, one of the top in her class, and goes to college, I will miss her a lot. I love her very much and we (usually ;) ) get along great. She is amazing and I don't know what I will do without her when I wake up and shes not there, go to bed without her across the hall. I love you a lot more than I tell you, Kelsey. <3
