  "Lightbox2008, what a first year in Flickr this has been for me. I came in with my mouth always opened. I could not believe some of the shots I was seeing. They were amazing and all I could think about was trying to do some like them. Then I came across the photostream of "Lightbox2008". Little did I know what a true genius he was. All I knew was his shots spoke to me everytime I saw one. Then he would say the kindess things and encouraged me to do better. I have learned through him that people on Flickr are not just contacts, they are are these amazing friends. I count him as a blessing in every way.   "Alan is one person that I admire here at Flickr. He has that gentle and kindred spirit as reflected by the comments he left in my stream. A man full of passion on the things he does, his flower macros are the reflections of that. Looking at his images can just change someone's mood. It comes with the feeling of cheerfulness when you are down, serenity when the soul is troubled, joy when there is sadness. I believe that we just don't capture those images but we give life to it and convey it to our viewers and this is what Alan's photos are.
