People call me "The MagnetDude". Since 1996 I have signed and numbered over 35,300 unique pieces of magnetic art. Using archival 60mil magnetic vinyl, I began to paint my creations. Using acrylic paints, foil, found objects and images, vintage glass stones, Swarovski® crystals and whatever you can imagine!
14 years ago I saw artist sticking magnets to their art, I thought why not stick the art to the magnet. Magnetic Originals was born. Thanks to Dave Kapell, founder of Magnetic Poetry, here in Minneapolis, I had access to all the magnetic sheets I needed.
My pieces range from inches to feet. $8 to $1500.
The future of magnetic art is unlimited. My distant cousin, Carl F. Gauss is the mathematician who came up with the mathematical theory of magnetism. I guess that is why I was drawn to this amazing new media. It is my destiny to magnetize the art world and have my works stuck up throughout the universe.
I have come full circle and have begun to embed strong neodymium magnets in the back of the canvas creations I have begun to make. They can be hung on a wall or popped up on a locker, file cabinet, fridge, or any metal surface!

A couple years ago I began to put my MicroDoodles on canvas. I have been writing very tiny since I was a kid. When I found Rapidograph tech pens, and mechanical pencils, my tiny drawings took on a whole new feel. I began to experiment with various surfaces; canvas, glass, plastic, wood, painted surfaces. The more grand the MicroDoodle the more unique the pieces became. I would spend time each day writing and drawing. Around dusk, or before bed, I would spend some time to reflect, brainstorm or just listen to passing conversations to help me create my "GlowBoxes" as I call them. I coat each canvas with a Phosphorescent Blue and Teal acrylic paint. That is about to change, because I can no longer get the paint from Golden Acrylics. I may try to have them create a custom blend of plain ol' white paint to MicroDoodle on.
I do custom MicroDoodle designs. Price based on the size and time it take to complete. Average price is around $180, but I have small pieces that sell for as low as $12
