I consider myself a serious amatuer photographer.

Having been intriqued by the Year Book Photographer in high school, I took an introductory photography class as a freshman in college where I learned basic darkroom skills. I always took photos when traveling and on special occassions, but it took twenty years to build the first of three darkrooms. Over the years I exposed a lot of color and black and white film, but only printed black and white. I figured my retirement years would be devoted to figuring out the color thing.

All that changed with the purchase of my first digital SLR and editing software. Digital made color editing and printing as much fun as the darkroom. The last couple of years have been a blast to say the least. I have years worth of work ahead of me to digitize and play with 40 years worth of negatives.

My wife's voracious appetitie for travel and the opportunity to live and work overseas has provided the opportunity to explore this wonderful world and the subject matter for my photo's. It's travel photography......shoot from the hip.... what you see is what you get ...little planning.... and seldom time to wait for the sun, clouds etc to change.

I enjoy them...hope you do too.
