I've always been fascinated by photography and have loved the medium since my early 20's and that's a long time ago now.

I must admit that I love the immediate nature of digital photography, you can see the images you've taken a second or so after you've pressed the shutter and I think that allows for greater creativity in terms of achieving a desired result/effect. Failures are quickly discarded, cost nothing and can be retaken instantly.

My own personal interests have changed in the past couple of years and are becoming more abstract, making use of lines and patterns; hopefully, turning the ordinary into things of interest.

I love the concept behind sites like Flickr and it's online community. It has made my pictures available to a much wider audience – they can now be seen almost anywhere in the world and a few hang on walls in countries I have never visited. It's a far cry from when I first started taking pictures in the 70's; then, it was major achievement getting a picture published in the local newspaper! How times have changed.
