Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. -Anon.
Thanks for the visit!
IF YOU MARK ANY OF MY IMAGES AS A FAVORITE, AND YOU HAVE NO PROFILE OR PHOTOSTREAM, I WILL HAVE TO BLOCK YOU ... SORRY.
IF YOU ADD ME AS A CONTACT, AND I DO NOT RECIPROCATE, PLEASE DON'T TAKE IT PERSONALLY - IT JUST MEANS THAT I HAVE LIMITED TIME AND CAN ONLY ADD NEW CONTACTS THAT GENUINELY WANT TO STAY IN TOUCH. THANK YOU.

Wildlife & Nature Photography says:
"Once upon a time I used to be Canon-Girl, and as such I wrote a testimonial for this wonderful lady. Recently, I've re-read the words that I wrote then and am proud to say how right I was. Jacki's photography is truly amazing. Not merely because of the fact that she has masterly control of all the technical elements of photography, such as lighting, composition etc., but mainly beacause her images stir something in you. They move you and they touch the deepest strings of your soul.
Jacki captures rural scenes from places I'd like to visit one day, and her still life photography is sublime. But, don't take my word for it, have a look yourself at her photostream. I'm sure you will spend there a very long time like I did when I first encoutered it.
Jacki, although there is a little pond between us, I hope that one day we will meet, sip together a nice Eearl Grey tea or a freshly brewed coffee or something stronger (I'm quite flexible). Then, I will have a chance to thank you for being here, for being who you are, and for sharing your world with us.
I am looking forward to many more images from you."11th February, 2012

"I want to start off by saying- I'm not writing this testimonial for any sort of retribution.
In my eyes OneEyedJax is probably the best photographer on flickr. Her tones, composition and eye, are simply magical.
In my mind, she is the bar. The bar that measures how good you can be, or how good you could've been. I'm working to get to the OneEyedJax standard, and when I get there, Ill know I've arrived.
You are Awesome! Seriously.....AWESOME!"18th December, 2010

"Wisconsin is very lucky to have Jacki in the cusp of her hands. This talented artist manages to bring simple day to day events to us all and we respond always with a gratitude for it. With her usage of the four seasons, Jacki creates wonderful compositions complete with thoughtful sentiments that always accompany her work. She is a very happy person that enjoys all that life has to offer and as a Flickr contact, none are better!
Besides being a quality photographer, Jacki also has a gift of sketching with pencil. It is precise and very well done. So Jacki, with this being said, thank you so much for being talented and kind hearted. This world needs more quality human beings such as yourself :)))"29th May, 2010

JLMphoto says:
"Jacki is hands down one of my favorite photographers on Flickr. She has an unerring eye for composition and often converts even the most mundane objects into works of art. I marvel at her still life photography and her exquisite texture work. Many of her images look deceptively simple, but they are so carefully crafted and lit that I challenge anyone to replicate them. Her nature and macro photography is likewise imbued with a great sense of style and sometimes nostalgia. I always look forward to Jacki's next post because I know it will be a thing of beauty and a source of inspiration. Thanks, Jacki, for being a great Flickr friend and for contributing such great photography to the Flickr community."

"OneeyedJax is one of my earliest Flickr contacts (back in the point and shoot days). She may not post photos as frequently as some (but when she does) she means business. Her photos are ALWAYS well thought out and with impecable image quality. Her pastoral style makes me want to get out the the city. Check out her "Barn" photos and you know what I mean!!!!
Thanks for all your posts and comments and "Keep Shootin;""16th October, 2009

Just call me Jac says:
""One Eyed Jax" ... that name is in so few ways is an appropriate moniker.
Sorry, I'll be a bit long winded here defining myself ... Jacki is an artist extraordinare, period. It has been my fortune to meet a few gifted souls in my life that go beyond what life presents to them. Jax is one of them, for the simple reason that I truly believe that she does in fact closes one eye just to see the world in a unique way. In other words, Jax has a view of the world that we with two eyes open, can not and will not see.
But all of that is just platitudes, for Jacki is the type of folk that makes you a better person and though she accepts compliments graciously, she just as soon trade a quick barb with you. And the funny thing is that you can see that in her art! Jax tries not to hide her emotions in her work, but brings forth your emotions as you view it. She shares it, whatever it is for the moment, with you and me!
I am honored to have One Eyed Jax feel that I am worthy enough to see her world though her one eye, metaphorically speaking.
If all of this sounds like y'all should be digging out the hip waders, just remember that I am sitting here typing all this out in my underwear, you know, that 'picture everyone naked' idea that gets fools like me upon the stage."5th August, 2009

So if you are visiting for the first time, do be prepared to put your feet up and stay a while. Jacki has a great eye for composition and really knows how to post process, I particularly love her still life and rural decay images. Keep up the good work and thank you for being a great flickr friend."

"Flickr has become a touchstone ... an extension of soulforce - and Jacki has become another of my favorite artists in this community. Not only is her art cinematic in scope, but it's also delicate and delightful. While she had to leave for a moment, she burst back onto the scene with such tremendous sincerity and commitment to her craft. Safe Journey!"

Craig - S says:
"I've been following Jacki's photo stream for quite some time now, and I've come to realize just how talented she really is. Her postings always seem incredibly beautiful to me. Whether it's a flower, a still life, or a sketch, she always has a unique perspective on the presentation. I can see visual beauty in an object, like a flower, but seeing the same image through Jacki's lens is like seeing it in a whole new way.
Take some time to browse through her stream and view some of her fantastic creations. She has a great eye for judging the light in a photo, and knowing how to compose a great image. Just look at her set called "Trees" and you'll see what I mean about composition and light. She brings that same keen eye to composing, and lighting, her still life images which are amazing. Her talents don't stop there as you can see if you look at the hand skectchs she's created.
If you count Jacki as a contact, you're very lucky, because she always has a kind word or two, and will always point out what particular thing she likes in a photo, which is much nicer than a generic "good job!" comment. Thanks for your encouragement and support on Flick Jacki, and I'm hoping to see many more beautiful images here."18th May, 2009

Canon-Girl says:
"I have not known Jacki for a long time, but it does not take long to realise what a great person she is. As so many wrote before me, Jacki has the unique capability of taking everyday objects and turning them into art. The first time I saw Jacki's images I was convinced that she is a professional photographer. Indeed, many such photographers could easily be inspired by her work. I know I am.
I read somewhere once that: 'Best friends are like diamonds, precious and rare. False friends are like leaves, found everywhere.'
Jacki is a pure diamond."15th May, 2009

Nick Boren Photography says:
"I have thought about giving Jacki a testimonial now for some time. I am not the best with words but I will try to convey my thoughts in a way that will let people realize just what kind of wonderful and talented person that Jacki really is.
I have never personally met Jacki but that is not necessary to realize the kind of person she is. She is always very kind in her comments on my images and is always very complimentary. I am sure she is that way with her other contacts as well.
Jacki is not only a fantastic person, she has a talent with art that just leaves you stunned when you look at it.. I am not just talking about photographic art either. There is a sketch she did of her daughter that will stick in my mind forever. It is entitled "No Place To Hide".. It is a sketch of her daughter.. It is on her stream. For those who have not been fortunate enough to see it, I would recommend you view it. You will come away like I did, in awe of her talent.
She is not only a fantastic artist with that medium, but she is also a very talented photographer. There are not many that are multi-talented like her. I admire her art so very much.
I could go on and on but I will stop here. Just know that she has inspired me with my own photography and I have been in this business for a long time.. some 35+years..
Thank you Jacki, for allowing me to be your friend and for sharing your talent with us. It has enriched my life and others as well I'm sure.
Hugs to you my dear friend, and wish you all the best in the future..;-) Nick"14th May, 2009

Every image she portrays with such heart and emotion, that you can't help but FEEL every something incredible when you are gazing upon her beautiful work.
She also is probably THE sweetest person I have met on Flickr. She always has something kind to say, and when she does, her comments come from her heart as well.

windywolf says:
"Sometimes in life you stumble across someone who immediately grabs your attention like a good book. When you meet someone in person you can usually get some idea of a person by the way they hold themselves and how they interact with others. Over time you get to know that person better and tick the various boxes you have in common and learn and enjoy the things they do that interest you but are not part of your everyday life. It’s the way we grow if we are that way inclined. I stumbled across Jacki’s photostream a little while ago and boxes immediately started being ticked. The places Jacki’s images have taken me are of places and things I’ve always wanted to see. Coupled with the way Jacki treats her images has made me lean back in my chair and smile on many occasions.
Jacki has the ability to take the simple and make it stupendous. Objects become works of art and I’d swear on several occasions I’ve felt my heart smiling.
Inspirational is the word to describe what Jacki can do with a camera and I find it a great pleasure to be learning so much from what she does. My daughter Leia is also a huge fan and wonders what Jacki will think of shots as she takes them and learns the processes of what makes a good shot. When you can inspire a 9 year old you’ve got something special.
It’s fantastic to have things to look forward to in life and for me one of those things is Jacki’s images. Keep them coming Jacki and we’ll keep smiling."26th May, 2008

Just Add Light says:
"The view through her eyes is incredible!
I look at photography as an interpretation as to how the photographer "sees" their subject and their ability to portray the subject in a manner in which is pleasing, provocative or dramatic.
Her still life and architectural representations seemingly take the simple and transform them into something you feel like you have seen for the first time.
Her landscapes photos inspire and capture the essence of the moment she is in, bringing them to life and evoking emotion.
Her photostream is joy to behold and I highly recommend spending time to review her work.
Cheers Jackie!"29th April, 2008

"It's hard to say what everyday item Jacki will capture and turn into a work of art. She has a talent for seeing the beauty in everything, and through her photography, shares it with the world. She is an inspiration to me to become a better photographer, and to look at things in a different light. Jacki is always willing to give constructive advice and freely share the knowledge gained through her photographic experiences. She is the kind of person anyone would be happy to call a friend."
