"spiritual, beautiful, grounded, lovable...each picture has its presence: meditative, calm, piques curiosity, each new picture ironically feels familiar, thanks for your artistry."

Nicole Raisin Stern says:
"David ~ Ten Directions ~ was among my first flickr friends when I joined in 2005. At the time, I was still getting up the nerve to comment on people's streams and only knew people by their monikers. I was delighted by Ten Directions' simple, yet deeply appreciative and encouraging comments on my paintings, drawings, and photos, and also honored that such a skilled photographer would take notice of my artwork.
I especially love David's flowers, his prayer flags, portraits of TM, Reilly, and Kiana, his San Francisco, and the Zen Buddhist images he shows us. In each and every image, I feel Ten Directions' deep reverence and appreciation for life right here and now.
Gassho, David."8th June, 2008

"Ten Directions' photostream is one of my very favorites. Beauty, simplicity, texture, and wonder– TD does it all, and does it so well. His appreciation for life shines through the images.
Be sure to check out his ‘backyard’ set. Part National Geographic photo-essay, part love letter to the west…it is simply spectacular. I look forward to every new addition to the Ten Directions collection!"25th July, 2005

"The 8 points of the compass plus up and down equal ten directions, or all directions. Aptly named, Ten Directions is your ultimate tour guide to the wonders of life, and the value of awareness.
Modest and respectful, Ten leads us along paths filled with delightful and unexpected treasure. The easily overlooked and under-appreciated are brought into focus, bathing us with the freshness of discovery and finesse of delicate perception.
The cosmos is our home and Ten is the perfect host. Pull up a comfy chair and let Ten Directions take you on an illuminating and satisfying journey."12th July, 2005

tejana says:
"When I first discovered David’s photos I was blown away by their perfection ... not perfection in a clinical sense but spiritual perfection, Enticing, enthralling, sumptuous ... I find myself nodding ... They are right. They are the image that i would want to create if I were standing in the same spot, looking at the same vista ... the difference is I didn’t think I would seen it.
If I had to describe David’s photos with one word, it would be ... Serenity. But they are so much more than that. His images combine elegance, unexpected viewpoints, charm and expertise ... infused with a depth of soul ... of spirituality that is unique and inspirational.
His photos continue to evolve, to transform... to perfect perfection, whatever the subject. I’m always surprised and charmed and maybe more than just a little jealous.
Add to that .. he is a wonderful Flickr friend. Diligent and very kind in his comments on my photos. I have so much respect for his work that his willingness to comment on mine is a great compliment."3rd July, 2005

"There are many reasons I enjoy photography,a hint of visiting places I have never been, a glimpse of the world how another sees it.
TENS photos are very fulfilling in every aspect ,whether they are pictures of everyday life or a studied pose.
There is one underlying theme and that is the beautiful colour palette. This is interpreted from the wonderful pastel blues in the barn photo, the great light used in many meadow and vineyard shots or the wonderful, sometimes garish colours in the urban settings.
TENS photographs are inspiring and whenever there is a dull, grey day in England, there is always a bright , sunny place to visit for a fleeting moment in this photostream.View them , analyse if you wish, but wholeheartedly enjoy them.

Barrybar says:
"Ten Directions is a misnomer because he takes you, through his photos, in more directions than ten. He offers you views of everyday objects that you may very well have missed if you had taken the same path that led him to his subjects. Often, when he aims his camera at a subject, or object, he presents a view that stops me in my tracks. It may be just a slice of the object, but how sweet.
As many photos as I've taken over the years, when I visit his photostream, I get the feeling that I am in school, that I am being taught, in a very fresh manner, how to look and how to see things differently from the way I'm accustomed to. In other words, viewing Ten Directions’s photos can only make me a better photographer. And then I would still return, to learn more.
No question that Ten Directions is an accomplished photographer. When I look at his pictures, whether B&W or color, I see possibilities, in myself, for going in new directions."17th April, 2005
