A little about ME:
I am a divorced American male. I was born and raised in Michigan, but now reside in Florida because of my own choosing. I am 41 and have been here for almost 15 years. Everyone seems to come to Florida, but they wait until the retirement years. Florida has so much to do for the younger crowd, the beaches, surfing, fishing, boating, actually ALL types of watersports. Plus it has nice ‘shorts and t-shirt’ weather for almost 11 months out of the year. Sure it is humid and sure we have a season of hurricanes, but I wouldn’t trade it for the northern snow storms anymore.

I have been a ‘shutterbug’ since I was 9 or 10. I had gotten a small little ‘box’ camera for Christmas one of those years; I think it was a 126…something, I’m not even sure of the make. It had the little square flash cubes that you snapped in on the top. They were only good for 4 flashes and then you had to put another one on. That camera took great photos, and I used it for many years. Then I graduated to a Canon Sureshot. With simplicity, I thought I had it made, that camera also took great shots. And it ended up being the ‘family camera’ for many many years. Mom & Dad still had the huge Polaroid camera that they used occasionally, but the film was expensive.

I got in the digital age early on, I think I started with one called the Epson 101, and then the 201. Those cameras honestly took terrible pictures when compared to ‘regular’ film cameras. It is amazing where the digital camera technology is today.
After looking at some of my pictures, I imagine you can make one guess as to what I do for a living. The one thing about photography I do not know how to overcome is the fact that I take 10,000 pictures…and I am only in 3 of them! (a slight exaggeration, but not too far from the truth), I am always behind the camera instead of in-front of it! I feel so vain when asking other people to take MY picture! LOL

Over the years I have taken pictures of landscaping and people (family) mainly. But looking through this site, there are a lot of people that are REALLY into creative photography. There is a lot of awesome stuff on here, that is one reason why I paid for a membership. I felt it was necessary to make some sort of payment to look at people’s art and try and pick up pointers and tips.

I like seeing all the diversity here. I like the vibrant colorful pictures that people take, I also like seeing the black & white photography, seeing how people use light and shadow. I am a fan of texture and details, especially when photographing people. I like to see the details, so I like to see the larger photos, so you can actually see the detail. I find it disappointing when there is a great photograph, but it is only 200 x 300 pixels.

Anyway, enough for now. I have only been affiliated with Flickr since February 08, 2008, so I am a newbie. I am working on putting tags, titles, and descriptions on my photos. If I haven’t got there yet and you have any questions feel free to ask
