    Lenstrail (www.lenstrail.com) says:

"I know Felix and Jaime, the key members of Eyes on Asia for sometime now. Jaime is great at whatever she does. She makes you feel at home even at the remotest locations with her exceptional organising skills.

Well, when it comes to photography Felix is my Guru. Till now I have done 3 workshops with him. Two of them were Getaways: Siem Reap, Cambodia and Lombok, Indonesia. Both the time my respect for Felix as a teacher and photographer has grown manyfold.

During the trip, Felix was very patient; he would answer all my questions (sometimes most basic and silliest) in depth with theory and practical applications. He does not hesitate in sharing his vast experience as a professional travel photographer. Felix’s method of evaluating the photos on the spot (on LCD screen) is really helpful. I would like to quote Felix here, "Before you leave the scene, check your screen and look at the images. Do not walk away, unless you are certain you have what you came for. There is still time to take some more images, but once you packed up.. only regrets will remain, if you missed out on something". In moments when you are clueless Felix would click photo with his camera to show you what he means. This is in particular helpful to understand the same subjects in a new light.

In spite of so many feathers in his cap, Felix does not have any air about himself. On the field he is just like a friend with authority on the subject.

This testimonial will not be complete without mentioning James (James Robert Fuller). His invaluable experience as a photojournalist gave a completely different perspective to look at things. You would rarely come across a teacher who would give in depth explanations like James does. As James put it aptly, what we learn during these 5-day workshops can be compared to years of self-learning.

I would highly recommend Eyes on Asia getaways to anyone, who is interested in travel and photography. It also goes without saying that I would go on these getaways as many times as possible."

"If you like travelling with time to snap awesome pics but not wanting to spoil the relaxation and enjoyment... Eyes On Asia getaways just the right thing for you...

I met Felix on a half day review in Singapore in 2008. But having a conversation with the laid back him, you can see and feel that he sees and interprets images / moments differently.

And being recently finishing an enjoyable 5days with EOA Chiang Mai getaway... I have learnt alot not just from Felix but also the other participants. On photography, on life, on travelling... etc...

It is a slow and steady trip taking into concerns everyone's pace and needs and abilities... everything is taken care of by the wonderful EOA producer Jamie... so again... let me summarize... if you like travelling, if you like photography... if you wish to relax and enjoy... EOA getaways are a must go..."

"Just putting an object on the side and having two thirds of space without anything going on, is rather pointless’, Felix told me when I went to a Saturday class of his. Realising that just following rules without really knowing why doesn’t make a lot of sense, but his statement did. So I tried it out and found it not always easy, but it helped me to give my pictures more depth.
Just this statement helped me so much in making my pictures more interesting that I really wanted to go on one of his getaways.
And believe me, I didn’t regret it. Everything was so well organisied by Jamie that we just could lean back and enjoy taking pictures, discussing different apertures and shutter speeds and comparing the results. Sometimes you realised even though you’ve been at the same spot, your pictures looked completely different.
It was a great environment to improve my photographic skills and I felt so at home with Jamie, Felix and James. It was just great. A big thank you to all of you."

"Asian Geographic Passport Chiang Mai Travel Photography Getaway"

Thank you Felix & Jamie for a wonderful experience in Chang Mai! The trip was professionally organized with expeditions to places which are quintessentially Thai - Muay Thai Boxing Gym, an elephant camp, various temples and a traditional Thai village. We woke up at the crack of dawn to visit these places - it was well worth it just for the beautiful light. The Highlight of the trip was Yi Pheng Festival.

During the 5 day trip, Felix Hug patiently answered all our questions however simple about photography and shared with us his experience as a professional travel photographer. His answers were clear and concise. All through the holiday he would guide us on the areas we could improve on either during the discussion or as individual guidance during the field trips.

Felix took the time during the field trips to evaluate your photos on the spot. He would then provide ideas on how to improve your photos or take a photo with his camera to show you what he means. This was invaluable as you get a second chance to photograph the same subjects with new tips and ideas from Felix. Seeing these new ideas translated into better photos on the second pass was really encouraging and inspiring.

I learnt a lot during the 5 days and added quite a few pages to my photography notebook. I am looking forward to the next travel photography getaway! Highly recommended."

"Felix makes me want to go to wherever he's been to.
Through his photographs, I see a little piece of geography, culture, history and meaning all in a frame. I delight in guessing where he's been to.. sometimes the answers are obvious, sometimes not. No matter what, it brings out feelings of wanderlust and the desire to go out there and experience what this wonderful world has to offer.

I took his Intermediate travel photography class and wished that it wasn't over so soon! Appreciate that he has zero airs.. no arrogance despite his achievements, especially when he's achieved so much! As a young freelance photojournalist, I treasure moments like this where I get to meet the man behind the pictures, listen to him speak, question, discuss and learn. Thanks for a wonderful workshop and I hope that there'll be much more!! :) Jean"

    Nomadic f-stops says:

"Often (travel) photographs make you wonder why--and, if they're especially good, how--they were made. Others, which transcend time/ place, make you wish you were there. Felix's photographs do both: they are intimate yet celebratory vignettes of a world at its most seductive, yet the elegance of their design calls attention to their consummate craft. Above all else vividly capturing the spirit of place while not revealing its mysteries; the viewer's curiosities are piqued to the point of motivation to explore.

Within Felix's workshops, the world of travel becomes more than the sum of its many elements, and its unique power to inspire, they shed light on the many disciplines required to evolve one's passionate inspiration to professional aspiration. I left his workshop mindful of industry realities while motivated by Felix's insights which are uniquely tailored to each participant; they are designed to invite one to elevate their respective craft to go beyond mere snapshots and make their images truly sing."

"To describe with few word, Felix Hug's Travel & Destination Photography is absolutely the best! Dazzling landscapes to lifestyle shots absolutely a treat see, chances are that you’ve come across some of his amazing photography. From the captivating ‘Yi Peng’ to the splendid ‘silkwind’ series, Felix Hug hasn’t failed to amaze me .

It was undoubtably one of the most valuable opportunities for me to have travelled & perhaps clicked a few shots with Felix during his visit to the Maldives. Apart from the valuable moments, it was great to hang around with someone with a cool attitude & sense of humor.
Luckily when "Eyes on Asia" decided to start their own Travel Photography Workshops, it’s everyone's chance to learn some secrets to his world renowned photography."
