Art is the objectification of feeling.
Herman Melville

My original art background is painting and natural science illustration but it takes me forever to complete a piece in the detail I like.I've taken that training and eye then applied it to photography.

One of the things I love about drawing and photography is that it teaches you to notice things, especially the mundane, and to really look at them from a different perspective. I like to think that expands into how you see life in day to day living.
Photography gives me more instant gratification in my art especially in these digital days. And I now have more direct control over processing than with film where I can't handle the chemicals.

February 2012- Carrying my camera almost every day I have learned so much. Many shots I don't keep or no one ever sees them but me. It's like a digital sketchbook, where I can experiment, train my eye and brain to observe and distill the essence of what I see and communicate that to others in my best work.
I'm really enjoying a wider community for photography than film alone afforded me. Most of the flickr folks I've met that share interests in photography, thrifting, collecting, the absurd have all been great.

Alas, the time has come where like other flickrites, I must say if you favorite my photographs or add me as a contact just to download my work and have nothing to offer for me to view or only stuff I'm not interested in I will block you.

I don't expect you to always agree with my POV or like my work. Constructive critcism is welcome. If you are going to be pissy, indignant or negative I will not respond to and may delete your comments. I'm not interested in debating who's right or better. Each of us has our own delusions we see the world through.Compassion is where we can meet.

    dr.Ōzda says:

"Of all my friends on Flickr I think you take the most "real" photos. I had to put "real" in quotes, because my own "reality" or what might pass for it on any given day is questionable. Anyway I love the glimpses you provide into the nooks and crevices of your fine city; done with your own very unique and refreshing perspective.
And I'm really looking forward to a day where we can have salad, soup and tea together -- at your table of course :)"

"Prima Seadiva takes some of the best, most forlorn urban photographs I have seen on flickr. I wish I could match her adventurousness and sense of time and opportunity."
